- Kameran Dev Log 1: McVey Opening Ceremony and GDC!
This past Thursday, Two members of the Lunar Blaze Studios team presented the most recent build of Kameran at the McVey Data Science Building ribbon cutting ceremony at Miami University. Alumni, investors, faculty and staff alike came together to celebrate the official opening of the new building while also seeing a wide display of student work. One of the featured stops on the McVey tour was the senior capstone games; a room dedicated to showcasing the most up to date builds of the senior Games + Simulations student’s projects. Above: Lead programmer Michael (Left), AI programmer Jaden (middle), and Narrative and audio designer Sami (Right) pose with the Kameran booth at the McVey opening ceremony. The build of Kameran that was showcased featured a huge amount of updates. A new camera model and the now playable basement were two of the biggest features of the game. Alongside that, a new audio log system was implemented alongside cinematics and the next step of overall polish. The game is now completely playable from the start of the house to the end of the basement level - yay! Moving forward, the team is going to be implementing a few quick patches before GDC. After that, Version 0.5.1 will be released as a playable demo on our Itch.io page. All members of the Lunar Blaze Studios team will be attending GDC- so keep an eye out for any of us we’d love to meet up and chat! The game will also be on display and playable at the GDC 2024 Post Awards Expo Party hosted at the Midway on Wednesday March 20th. We hope to see you there!
